what an insane deal for the halos. might be one of the worst of all time. napoli/rivera isn't much...but the 2 of them together is better then vernon wells. and then you throw in 4/86... i can say this now that i no longer work for the man ...but the toronto GM had to have given Arte a BJ (& swallowed) to sign off on that one. 4/86 for vernon fucking wells? why not add some douche like damon, manny, etc at 1/4? or why not just go abreu, hunter, bourjos...all already under contract...then bring up trout mid-season? ludicrous. arte obviously had me as the GM of the wrong fucking company.

btw, read some @ ctg. (will find a way to similarly fuck w/ a certain someone, lol.) but good to see people itching to deal already. make your minor league cuts by 2/15, and you're ready to go. just be careful w/ the rules...specifically, that whoever you deal for you must keep. the only thing i don't want to see is someone do a deal for a keeper and some throw-in...then wonder why the throw-in has to be one of the 8 keepers, even though that guy might be a team's 20th best player pre-cuts.

I agree. 20+ mil a year for Wells is shit. On the other hand, I am glad that Napoli's slow ass swing and Rivera's shitty LF defense and .255 is gone. Arte was being pressured to make a move and claimed that signing a ridiculous contract like Crawford's would make him raise ticket prices and that was something he wasn't willing to do. Now he signs a 32 year old that will probably suck ass in year 4 and 5 on the contract all while making 20 mil+ a year. Positives: Conger will finally be brought up. Bout fucking time. -Wells can replace the aging Abreu in the OF and move him to DH. Negatives: That's a lot of fucking money for someone who's underperformed for years, before 2010, of course. -Blocks the path for Mike Trout or forces Bourjos out of the equation. yeah.. I really wish they brought vladi back for a year for sentimental fulfillment. He's still good for .300/25... is it THAT much worse than .285/30 and a little defense? Fuck. I just bought this god damn jersey too. Attachments:

Buchholz, Anderson, Liriano and Weaver are available looking to maybe package two for a quality power hitter. (i.e. guys that are better than Pena, Reynolds or younger than Vlad/Konkerko)

damn...still 3 weeks to 2/15...cutting, trading, drafting, etc...and almost everyone has been jumping on proboards. guess we're all itching for baseball/spring training to get here. well, either that, or simply to smite 6 times a day.

gotta luv sales... well, i've got everything to deal as well. looking for an 8th keeper, i've got it for ya. looking for extra picks, well i've got those too. looking for some kids...yep, you guessed it...same answer. come 2/15, i'm ready to deal...and can deal any of the 4 types of assets in this league. and to top it off, i come cheaply.

Category 1: List of players who are available but what need a good offer, some obviously more than others
Elvis Andrus Matt Holliday Álex Rodríguez Álex Ríos Kevin Youkilis Joey Votto
Category 2: List of players who are top 35 ranked by most who would require a decent offer
Ubaldo Jiménez CC Sabathia
Category 3: Players who could be had for a lot less than that
Brian Wilson Torii Hunter Vernon Wells
Category 4: Players who I don't suggest you trade for but could be had for next to nothing
Lance Berkman John Buck Pat Burrell Aubrey Huff Hideki Matsui Casey McGehee Lyle Overbay Jorge Posada Brian Roberts Ryan Theriot Kevin Gregg Brandon Lyon Chris Pérez Koji Uehara C.J. Wilson
Category 1 players would obviously need to be dealt with on an individual basis Category 2 could be had for some mix of MLB draft picks and maybe a prospect Category 3 for next to nothing Category 4 for next to next to nothing
