This vote is simply to find out if, as a league, we want to change the draft order for future minor league drafts. Yes or no?
If the league votes yes, we will have a 2nd vote...and discussion, obviously...regarding what we'd change it too.
Step one first though...are we going to change this? Then, if so...step two...exactly how are we going to change it?

it'll be more necessary if there's a step two, but discuss below, if/as needed.
fwiw, due to the last two years, i've voted to change the minor league draft order. (not sure the best way to go about it, in all honesty...but that's for another day.)

only 4 votes? figured this one would be pretty easy to get people to participate.

Sorry for the delay, I voted to change it as well.

forget the other vote for now. will obviously need to start that over, and be more clear.
but for this, which is leading 6-1...we still need 5 more owners to vote. please do so when possible, so we can move on to the next stage (if necessary). thanks.

8 votes are in...4 are still missing. MJK, Mets, True, & Erstad...please answer this poll.
by the looks of things, we'll be changing the minor league draft next year. need to confirm that with the remaining 4 votes though. and just as importantly, we'd need to move onto figuring out exactly how we change the minor league draft moving forward...which will be the hard part.
(some of the recent international signees brought this back to mind.)

I might have missed something so please forgive me - why are we voting to change the minor league draft rules? If we don't have an amendment to consider I'm concerned it might be worse than what we have now. I don't see a problem with it now, but am certainly willing to consider anything. Without knowing the problem or having a remedy to consider, I'm going to vote no for now. But I guess with it being a 7-1 vote now, it won't impact the outcome and it will give you all a quorum to proceed.

Without knowing the problem or having a remedy to consider, I'm going to vote no for now. But I guess with it being a 7-1 vote now, it won't impact the outcome and it will give you all a quorum to proceed. many of us don't think the 1st place team should get the 1st pick in this draft, like i did with cespedes. the guy who set these rules up figured that the MLB & June drafts going worst to first, non-snake, was enough to keep things fair. he also though that this would keep teams competing, so there'd be a reason to finish 4th versus 6th for example. anyhow, this is to see if we want to change things. looks to be the case. the hard part will be figuring out how to best change things...what format would work the best. if we can't accomplish that, things will remain the same. but there are numerous possibilities. worst to first (yet again)...4th to worst, then 3/2/1...4th to 1st, then 5th to worst...etc. something tells me we'll never reach a consensus on a new format, but it's worth a try imo. 4, 5, 6...3, 2, 1...10, 11, 12...9, 8, 7 (as crazy as it looks) would probably be my take, as it would accomplish all the goals/intentions of the guy that created this league...yet still not reward the league's winner with the best available.

assuming we make a change...the 1 thing i'd really push for is for 4th place to have the #1 minor league pick...as that team competed all season, yet just missed out on the prize money.
where we go from that point, i'm 100% flexible with/open minded too.

While my preference remains having all 3 drafts go in reverse order of standings, I would settle for having the 4th place finisher get first pick in the following minor league draft, because I think there is merit to that idea. Something like - 4,5,6,12,11,10,9,8,7,3,2,1 - would be OK from my perspective, FWIW.

My suggestions: 4,5,6,12,11,10,9,8,7,3,2,1 weighted lottery via a draft randomizer for the Minors draft. Fair and tied to rankings. Random which prevents tankings.
Other thoughts: Recommend that June draft be tied to prior season's end of year standings rather than standings at mid-season. Weighted Lottery & Randomized.
Major League draft should be moved to Snake format. Snake is consistent with Keeper leagues and would promote more competitive balance.
